Audition Information

Set in the 1590s, brothers Nick and Nigel Bottom are desperate to write a hit play but are stuck in the shadow of that Renaissance rock star (aka Shakespeare). When the local soothsayer foretells that the future of theatre involves singing, dancing, and acting at the same time, Nick sets out to write the world’s very first musical. But amidst the scandalous excitement of the opening night, the Bottom Brothers realize that reaching the top means being true to thine own self, and a few broken eggs along the way. This will be a unique immersive production of Something Rotten, where audience and stage are blended. We have a unique space and an exciting opportunity to promote improvisation, storytelling, and interaction while providing one of the funniest musicals to hit Broadway in decades!

GENERAL INFORMATION

Auditioners must be 17+ to audition. CenterStage Theatre Works is committed to equity, diversity and inclusion in casting. As such, we encourage performers of all races and ethnicities, gender identities, sexualities, abilities, and ages (for this show, 17+) to attend every audition. We expect all actors to exercise respect for each other to allow us to have a safe and inclusive environment to practice their craft.

AUDITION MATERIALS

Because this production is immersive, the ability to show off your storytelling ability and comedy is important to us for this audition. We want to see your comedic capabilities and your creativity!

All audition materials should be submitted through this audition form.

ACTORS/SINGERS: Please provide to us audition form by April 12, 2023. On the audition form, please include links to your headshot, rèsumè, and videos(placed on YouTube or Vimeo) that include the following

  • 60-second vocal selection (32 bars) that demonstrates character development (and we would love it to be funny also!)
